Our Story
Pastors Sam and Angie Mascareno founded Lighthouse Church in 1999. Sam’s passionate love for God and desire to help people is demonstrated week after week. In addition to being the lead pastor at Lighthouse, Sam is also a partner with a leading international accounting firm. Angie has fearlessly established and led key ministries, like our Radiant Lighthouse Ladies our thriving LKids ministry. Together, along with their twin daughters, Pastors Sam and Angie have set an example of faithfulness to ministry, the workplace and other places where God has called us to lead.
We have seen God do extraordinary things through the lives of ordinary people. In our brief history, we have supported efforts to launch four new churches in San Diego County and in New York. We have partnered with Kingdom Initiatives that directly support those affected with homelessness, orphanages in Mexico, assisting women who are recovering from trafficking, and more. We have also served our community and schools by meeting practical needs with love. Every week people walk out of our worship services saying that they have experienced God in a new way. We are amazed at how much God is doing through Lighthouse Church here in Chula Vista and in North County.

We’re a Bible-based church focused on following the life and teachings of Jesus, meeting the needs of all people, and becoming a light to our community. We are committed to seeing people far from God fulfill their potential in Christ. We serve and love the city of Chula Vista and have been doing so for 20 years. On Sundays, you can expect amazing kids’ programs, upbeat worship music, ministries for all ages, and relevant messages that will challenge you to be your best—and more like Jesus.
